Specializing in Winchester, Norinco, and IAC 1897’s. The 97 is the only gun I do gunsmith work on.

I offer over 20 years of experience of repairs, modification, and restorations on 1897 shotguns. I was fortunate enough to train and learn under my best friend, Marty Ahlman aka “Coyote Cap”. He made five trips to China to educate them on proper machining and manufacturing processes. The knowledge he imparted to me enables me to offer you the opportunity to have a CAS ready 97, built as close to his standards as possible

I specialize in 1897’s. I have a very good selection as I am always buying and selling. When you buy a 97 from me you have my personal guarantee that if it is not as I say, I will take it back and refund your money minus the shipping charge, or find a comparable replacement.

All of the 97’s that I have will be gone through to ensure proper and safe working order. This means that the gun will load out of the mag tube, cycle into the chamber, fire, extract, and eject the empty. It does not mean it has had an action job, just that it works as it was intended and is safe to shoot.

The next step up is an “action job” to improve the action so it can be used in competitive shooting as in Cowboy Action Shooting.

Due to demand, I don’t have many original Winchester 1897’s or IAC replica 1897’s with actions jobs made up ahead of time that are ready for immediate shipping.  Please be aware that there could be a two to three week delay in getting one ready for you.

Please see the segment under the Store Tab for setting up a 97 for lady and youth shooters.
