Speed loader is for 38 special ammo only. Holds 10 rounds, after loading them into the speed loader insert the lock pin then insert the plunger rod – it will only go in enough to stay there while you insert angled point into the loading gate,  hold the loader so the angled cut stays just under the loading gate and remove the pin from the end of the loader and push the plunger rod all the way down and out the end to ensure last round is in the tube. Be sure to hold the speed loader into the loading gate so the cartridges can be pushed into the mag tube. Antler handle shown in the picture is not the one you will receive but a nice looking one.

These work really well and fast in the 1873 and 1866 Lever action rifles. I can’t, and won’t, tell you what if any other rifles work with them as I only have used them on these two models.
